Maxwell Library provides access to The Chronicle of Higher Educationand The New York Times.BSU community members with @bridgew email addresses can access them free of charge.

The Chronicle of Higher Education

The Chronicle of Higher Education is an American newspaper and website that presents news, information, and jobs for college and university faculty, staff members, and administrators. Sign in any time with your @bridgew email address once you've created an account.

To create an account,

  1. Connect to The Chronicle of Higher Education
  2. Click on "Sign In" in the top right corner, then click the "Sign Up" link
  3. Enter your @bridgew email address and other required information
  4. Be sure to verify your account by clicking the link from the confirmation email (it may be in your spam folder!) and entering the required information

The New York Times

The New York Timesis an American daily newspaper that covers domestic, national, and international news, and publishes opinion pieces, investigative reports, and reviews. Sign in any time with your @bridgew email address once you've created an account.

To create an account,

  1. Connect to The New York Times account activation page
  2. Search for and select "Bridgewater State University - Bridgewater, MA"
  3. Click "Create Account" and enter your @bridgew email address and other required information
  4. Verify your account by clicking the link from the confirmation email (it may be in your spam folder!)

Students will have access until December 31st of the graduation year they choose. 

Faculty will have 1456 days of full account access  and then will need to re-authenticate their accounts. To re-authenticate your account,

  1. Connect to The New York Times account activation page
  2. Search for and select "Bridgewater State University - Bridgewater, MA"
  3. If off-campus, you will be prompted to log in with your Bridgewater credentials to authenticate. If on campus, skip this step. 
  4. Choose the prompt "Already have an account? Log in here" and enter New York Times credentials
  5. You will see an on-screen confirmation that your pass has been reactivated and the new expiration date.
