The One Book One Community selection for Fall 2012 is the Lemon Tree by Sandy Tolan.
In 1998 National Public Radio's Fresh Air Program aired an original documentary that told the story of the Lemon Tree - featuring Sandy Tolan, Dalia Eshkenazi, and Bashir Khairi.
In 1991 the house that had be home to both Bashir's and Dalia's families become Open House Ramle "to provide educational and social opportunities to Arab children and their families through [the] Center for the Development of the Arab Child; and to be a place of encounter and cooperation between Jews and Arabs in the Ramle-Lod area."
