Media & Streaming Services at Maxwell Library
Maxwell Library is dedicated to helping faculty access the media required for their courses. Please use the form below to request a film for streaming licensing evaluation or DVD purchase. A couple of points to consider before submitting your request.
- The library utilizes Swank and Kanopy to secure institutional licenses for classroom use. If a film is only available on commercial streaming platforms (e.g., Netflix), please be prepared to direct your students to those platforms.
- Make use of the Film Services @Maxwell Library Research Guide to learn more about streaming media and to explore all the resources that the library has curated. (Link to Research Guide)
- Under fair use guidelines, we are permitted to digitize excerpts or specific scenes required for classroom analysis and instruction but not entire films for which a license is available or that is available on commercial streaming platforms.
- Streaming video requests should only be submitted for films that all students in a course are required to view.
