Maxwell Library's Journal Hosting and Publishing is a service available to the editorial board with at least one member who is a current BSU faculty member.
This service supports the BSU community to publish and archive academic journals for open access at Virtual Commons.

This journal hosting and publishing Service offers:
- Provide a comprehensive journal hosting and publishing platform
- Provide consultations on scholarly publishing projects
- Collaborate to develop the journal website, publishing workflow, peer-review process, etc.
- Provide usage data with PlumX Metrics integrated to demonstrate the journal impact
- Support for all content types (e.g. multimedia)
- Provide training on the use of the platform
- Support for several reader tools, such as RSS feeds
This journal hosting and publishing platform allows:
- Authors to submit manuscripts and agree to the terms of publication
- Journal editors to assign articles to peer reviewers
- Reviewers to submit their reviews online
- Journal editors to publish and distribute manuscripts
- Journal editors to view the usage data in a Dashboard
