Search the Library Catalog
Maxwell Library uses the Library of Congress Classification System. To locate your book in the General Collection look at the first letter of the call number. If it begins with the letter A-L, it will be on the second floor. If it starts with the letters M-Z, it will be on the third floor. Reference Books and periodicals are located on the first floor and may not be checked out.
To find books pertaining to the Middle East or Middle East countries, search the Library's online catalog:
Like Asia, Middle East Studies covers a very broad subject areas including arts, economy, geography, history, language, literature, political conditions, and many social aspects. As a result, books related to the Middle East do not have a central shelving location. They are scattered across the second and the third floors. However, reference titles related to the Middle East are shelved on the first floor.
If you do not know what to look for, start a subject search with the subject term, Middle East, or a country's name:
- Gaza Strip
- Saudi Arabia
- United Arab Emirates
