Citing Sources: MLA Style

MLA (Modern Language Association) is one of the more popular styles for documentation. It is used mostly in the humanities and has in-text references that briefly identify the work used and a Works Cited page that provides full bibliographic information.

There are significant changes in the 9th edition (2016) of the MLA Handbook.  The guides below highlight some of the major changes and provide examples of citations.
